Welcome to Grow Your Library

Reading has dominated the majority of my life. For the last four years, I have averaged reading 100 books a year (103.75 to be exact). In the last few years, there have been only a handful of days where I didn’t read out of some book.

I usually set goals to help me read more. Whether it’s setting a higher annual reading goal, or reading a certain length of time each day.

This year I want to focus on learning, thinking, and writing while reading. This goal will help elevate my reading. I want to build a habit of thinking about what I am reading and writing about it every day. To help with this goal I want to also share what I write with others.

This website will be where I post what I am writing. My ambitious goal is to post something on this website every single day this year.

I have another website (www.samuelpedro.com), where I’ve written book reviews, but I haven’t been consistent with creating content. I’ve never written more than five blog posts in a month, so this new goal will push me.

So What Content Can You Expect With This Website?

To be honest, I don’t know.

I can only guarantee it will be a product of what I am currently reading. More than 2/3rds of what I read is non-fiction, so that will be a majority of what I will read. I also don’t want to do “book-review” type articles.

The goal would be that I could be a source of quality book recommendations and ideas to make you think.

What About YouTube?

For the last two years, I have focused on creating videos for my YouTube Channel. It has been a fun project for me. Twice a week, I turn on a camera and just talk about books (usually without a script). My plan for 2022, is to continue posting two videos a week. Because this website’s goal is in line with what my YouTube channel is, I imagine the videos will be an extension of what I write on this website.

Why the Name Grow Your Library?

I like the idea of being a source of good book recommendations.

A place where you could find inspiration to grow your library.
